Some States Don't Allow Write-ins

Postby gemnerd on Thu Jun 05, 2008 9:32 pm

I live in a state that forbids write-ins so it wouldn't work for me.

However, a write-in would take away the vote from McCain, and might help Obama get the presidency. For me, it's better to make a protest vote by voting for McCain. The Democrats need to know that they can't ignore this white, college-educated, working class, 60-year-old woman yet again.

Note: As for the argument that this is an historic vote -- for me that would be voting for a viable woman candidate for president. Voting for an African American man isn't new to many of us who years ago voted for Jesse Jackson -- a far better qualified candidate than Obama.

Perhaps an alternative to vent your displeasure, especially since some states do not allow writeins, is to vote for Ralph Nader. He will be on the ballot in every state. If you let it be
known a vote for him is a vote for Hillary and he gets 20% or more of the vote, it will send a strong message. It will also help the efforts of future 3rd party candidates which would
be a good thing as well. Something to consider. T.J.

TJ, I thought about voting for a candidate other that McCain also. What worries me is if we Hillary supporters don't vote for McCain and Obama is close enough, he might just win. If, on the otherhand, we vote for McCain, we'll keep him that much ahead of BO. I have strongly considered third party candidates as an option, I just don't know it one can actually beat McCain or Obama. I'll be watching though. Donna

Voting for Barr or Nader will not help send a message to the Democratic party. Neither of those candidates have a large enough party of voters to make a difference. I am a Hillary supporter and she will always have my vote, but in the current situation, everyone needs to vote for John McCain so he beats Obama. If Obama wins, we most likely would not be able to vote for Hillary until 2016. If McCain wins, we have a shot at getting Hillary elected in 2012.

Another thing on my mind is...it's not over until it's over! Who knows, something might happen with Obama between now and election time. There are rumors out there of a damaging "whitey" tape by Michelle Obama, and also rumors about illegal activities conducted by Obama and his limo driver. If something really damaging shows up during the general election, who knows, Obama might be forced to resign as the nominee. Hillary has suspended her election activity, but has not ended her campaign. We can still hope!

Everyone remember we have
Plan A: Hillary gets nomination in Denver and we all vote for her.

Plan B: NEVER vote where your vote will not be counted against what the DNC has done and against their current nominee, Obama.
You must vote for Hillary for Plan A and you must vote for McCain as Plan B. Make your vote count!
Be strong for Hillary, she was for us.

I remain hopeful that with our efforts the DNC will correct their mistake and instate Hillary Clinton as our Democratic nominee.
Meantime keep hitting the DNC and the super delegates with your options of Plan A and Plan B which urges them make that correction in Denver if not sooner.
Also contribute to the PUMAParty's march in Denver so we can make our loud statement heard on all news channels during that march.
Never contribute to Obama nor the DNC.
Keep blogging everyday possible. Keep emailing and talking about our "We the People" rights.
Hillary never quit, now we can't quit.

God Bless America
